针对马来西亚警方拘捕哈桑·康塔一事，国际特赦组织马来西亚研究员雷切尔·蔡霍华德评论道：
“哈桑·康塔的被捕是他案件中一连串不当处理的最新失误。鉴于叙利亚的危急局势和他自身安全的明显风险，马来西亚将他驱逐回国的做法将令人发指。当局应该尊重不推回的国际原则，并基于他受到的苦难寻求人道的解决方案。
“联合国难民事务高级专员办事处（UNHCR）驻马来西亚办事处应有权接触哈桑·康塔，事实上办事处也对此发出请求，他们认为他是‘利害关系人’，有权获得国际保护。”
